2010 Niagara Design Show

At the Niagara International Association of Florists annual convention and design show, Anne and Carys learned about new products and design techniques that will bring you access to more affordable floral luxuries.

One of the new products that impressed us most was a container that had a giant suction cup attached to it. Imagine, a flower arrangement that attaches to a window, a mirrored entryway, or perches sturdily on the hood of a new car!

Carys was thrilled when Neville called her up to the stage to help with a demonstration, but he sent her right back off the stage for the rest of the demo, because she was taller than him. So much for her 15 seconds of fame.

Neville MacKay, the key-note speaker, kept us laughing as he shared his unique insights into the floral industry and showed us tips and techniques that will save you money. The owner of a cutting-edge floral and retail gift shop, “My Mother’s Bloomers,” in Halifax, Neville has appeared on CTV, CBC, HGTV, WTN, and is a frequent guest on the Maritimes CTV network.
